I can also shoot on handmade papers, tiles or other surfaces but the selection will be limited at shows.

*Necklaces often have many different elements that have to be arranged and styled - which is very time consuming. This is why necklaces are priced a bit higher than other items.

These prices are for jury slide quality and includes color corrections and retouching of dust. Images used for large prints and postcards typically require work and would be priced according to use. Please ask for a quote.

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY OF CRAFTS

For jury slides I generally shoot craft items on a white background that gradually falls off to black, gray or another color in the distance. I find this tends to give most subjects a clean look with a good feeling of depth.

I have equipment for hanging items above the set. Sometimes this can become quite involved if there are many items or they tend to swing around like a mobile, so I may need to add a small additional fee for the extra time involved.

Large items like rugs and quilts are hung and/or pinned to a wall and can't be shot at shows. However I can bring rugs and quilts back to the studio and shoot them after the regular day is over and return them to the show the following day.

GLASS PHOTOGRAPHY

Prices are for single pieces of glass shot on a white or a graded background. I may use polarizer filters to control or eliminate reflections. I may also retouch some reflections that I feel detract from the image.

Prices are for single pieces. Please add $30 for each additional items in a shot unless quoted otherwise.

35-mm SLIDES OF PAINTINGS AND PRINTS

35-mm slides of normal-sized painting or prints brought to the studio. I can bring out the fine textures of your work and elimate any undesired gloss or glare. My lights are meterered for correct color and I use professional film and processing. .

For paintings up to 4'x 5' brought to the studio. 5 piece minimum order unless other arrangements are made. Normal turnaround - 1 week. Rush service available for cost of courier service to and from lab ($30). Slides are paged in archival pages and come with a notebook.

Digital price covers photography of paintings or print as above, and archiving of a file that can be used for the generation of web and print files up to 16sold separately. See below.

CLOTHING PHOTOGRAPHY WITH A MODEL

  • Consultation, selection of model and studio set-up.............$125 Testing prior to the shoot....................................................$125/hr
  • Photo shoot of model (First two hours)................................$250
  • Additional shooting time.....................................................$125/hr
  • Post-processing/editing of the hundreds of images taken....$100/hr
  • Modeling fee for professional model, 2 hr minimum............$175/hr

I use professional models from Maggie inc. or other top Boston modeling agencies, and I will have the agencies bill you directly. During the consultation phase the agencies will send photos of models that match your needs. I'll make all the arranangements to get the model to the studio for the shoot. I generally like to test befor the model arrives, often using an assistant or even my client as a stand-in. This often takes place the day before the shoot and would be billed separately at $125/hr.

I've had mostly bad luck with amateur models who generally aren't used to the demands of a two or three hour photo shoot with clothing and hair style changes. Posing is also a huge issue. Professional models are worth every penny they charge and then some.

These file prices apply to any image created by the studio. If digital files need to be created from slides, there is a $5 charge per slide for scanning.

Web files can be any size you like up to 7 x 9, 72 dpi jpegs. Print files can be either 300 dpi jpegs or tiffs. Once all files are created they can be burned to CD for $10.

 

*I charge a set-up fee for slides because the digital images I create for slides are extremely large so I can make high quality slides.. I also retouch to remove dust, fix any obvious color shifts, adjust contrast if necessary and make other basic adjustments to the image. Then I need to upload each of the files to my lab.which creates the slides. The file prep fee covers all of these expenses. Normal turnaround time for slides 1 week. Two day service available.

SMALL AND LARGE PRINTS

8x10 to 11x14 prints can be printed on glossy or matt paper. Larger prints are printed on archival matt paper.

All prints are made in studio on my Epson 9600, 44archiveal pigment ink printer, the same printer I use for making art reproductions. All papers are arvhival artist papers and prints (except glossy) are given a protective archival spray that protects them form moisture and uv rays. They are rated to last more than 100 years, so they wont fade under show lights any time soon!

These prices include extensive retouching always required when big prints are made.

Can also print on canvas and vinyl. ..

Liabilty: Although the studio will take every precaution to protect your art from damage or loss, by leaving your work to be photographed you agree that the studio shall not be held financially responsible if such loss or damage does occur even if it is due our fault and/or neglegence.
